One of the best waves for bodyboarding near Corralejo

In the north of the island of Fuerteventura, ten minutes from the tourist resort of Corralejo, lies the Bristol-Shooting Gallery spot. During the winter, it offers one of the best waves in the archipelago for bodyboarding, as well as other water sports. Thanks to its excellent location, it is one of the spots most frequented by bodyboarders, so it is advisable to get there early to enjoy the waves in peace. As it is in a very rugged area, there are no facilities nearby and a bit of caution is required on days with strong swells.

The Bristol-Shooting Gallery wave breaks on both sides, but the quality of its left-hand break stands out. Its perfect, crystal-clear tube has earned it a well-deserved reputation among Canarian riders. The wave breaks over a volcanic reef and is very demanding on days with strong swell. The best conditions occur during the winter, at high or medium tide, with south-south-westerly, south-easterly or easterly winds and a north, north-easterly or north-westerly swell, although there are always waves the rest of the year. Getting into the water is straightforward, as you can enter from several spots and paddle out gradually until you reach the peak.
