Kitesurfing for all levels near Costa Calma

In the south-east of Fuerteventura, very close to Costa Calma, lies the kitesurfing spot at Sotavento beach. It offers plenty of space for kitesurfing and is suitable for all levels. Its wind conditions and the services available to kitesurfers right by the beach, particularly regarding equipment hire and purchase, make Sotavento Beach one of the most popular spots on Fuerteventura.

A spot included in the PWA World Championship

This spot is very popular thanks to the PWA (Professional Windsurfers’ Association) World Windsurfing & Kiteboarding Championship, which it hosts every year. The winds are most consistent and strongest at Sotavento Beach during spring and summer, when they blow from the north-east and can exceed 50 knots. The waves, which break very close to the shore over the sandy seabed, do not prevent anyone, regardless of their skill level, from getting into the water with ease.
