Jandía Lighthouse – Veril Grande
Diving at Veril Grande: suitable for all levels
In the south of Fuerteventura, opposite the Jandía lighthouse, lies a spectacular spot known as Veril Grande, which is perfect for divers of all levels. At a depth of 20 metres, you’ll find the top of a wall that drops vertically to around 40 metres and is home to species such as white seabream, black moray eels, dogfish and angel sharks, amongst others. Just before reaching the drop-off, garden eels can also be found. On occasion, large pelagic species such as whale sharks or devil rays are even spotted.
A dive with a multitude of marine species
Access to this dive site is by boat, around 200 metres from the beach. Depending on the divers’ level and experience, different types of dives can be undertaken, exploring either the wall itself or the caves found on it. The clarity of the water and the white sand make Veril Grande a very bright spot where you can enjoy a multitude of marine species in a single dive.
