Islote de Lobos Nature Reserve

Islote de Lobos Nature Reserve

A trip to this small island offers peace and quiet, crystal-clear waters, volcanic landscapes, snorkelling and hiking in a natural setting with no roads.

Take a boat trip to Lobos Island

A day trip to Lobos Islet guarantees restorative tranquillity, crystal-clear waters and stunning volcanic landscapes. This islet, which takes its name from the sea lions or monk seals that lived on its shores until not long ago, covers just 4.5 square kilometres, rises to a height of 127 metres… and has not a single road. Located 15 minutes by boat from the northern tip of Fuerteventura, its outstanding scenic and natural values have earned it the status of a Natural Park.

Snorkelling and hiking on the islet of Lobos

To reach its volcanic rock shores and white sands, you can take a small ferry from the port of Corralejo, in Fuerteventura. From the deck of the boat, you can see the clarity of these turquoise blue waters, ideal for snorkelling, and get a sense of the quality of the fresh fish served at the village of Puertito de Lobos. Several trails allow for excursions to the perfect volcanic cone of La Montaña caldera, the secluded beach of La Calera or the iconic Lobos lighthouse.
