El Burro Beach
A short wave ideal for jump kitesurfing
In the north-east of Fuerteventura, in Corralejo, lies the El Burro beach kitesurfing spot. It is the ideal spot during the summer, as the N-NE trade winds are frequent and more consistent at this time of year. Although some experience is required, conditions in the beach area are favourable for learning. The wave generally breaks left, and it is a short wave perfect for those who enjoy jump-based kitesurfing. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.
An easily accessible spot in Fuerteventura
It is best to go kitesurfing at El Burro beach at low or medium tide, and take care not to lose your kit on the volcanic rock reef. Although the spot is easy to reach, as you can park near the beach, there are no facilities nearby. Getting into the water is straightforward if you do so from the beach and paddle out from the shore to the spot.
