The Wall

The Wall

An ideal beach for surfers and naturists, with golden and black sand, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the sun and the sea.

A legendary surfing spot in south-west Fuerteventura

Whilst windsurfing and kitesurfing dominate the beaches of Corralejo and southern Jandía in Fuerteventura, Viejo Rey is the island’s capital for traditional surfing. Located in La Pared, an enclave so named because of the wall that once divided the island in two, this beach, stretching for almost a kilometre, is not only a favourite with surfers but also with lovers of freedom and naturism, as there is plenty of space for everyone.

The strong winds and regular swell justify its status as a surfing destination, but also mean you should take care when swimming. Otherwise, its black sand—though golden in certain areas—its size, guaranteed sunshine and refreshing ocean are ideal for unwinding, strolling and enjoying the day. Viejo Rey is situated next to the residential area of La Pared and has another nearby cove that adds to the area’s appeal.
