Solana del Matorral
An exotic beach near shopping areas in Fuerteventura
In the major tourist hub of Morro Jable, in the south of Fuerteventura, lies a vast beach of white sand and calm waters that shift between shades of turquoise and emerald. It is known as Morro Jable beach and stretches from Las Gaviotas beach in the north to the centre of the fishing village of Morro Jable in the south. Strolling along this kilometre-long exotic beach via the avenue that runs alongside it allows you to enjoy not only the shopping areas but also the iconic view of the Morro Jable lighthouse silhouetted against the sea.
Four kilometres of tourist beach next to the Saladar de Jandía
Morro Jable beach stretches for four kilometres and is bordered by a huge avenue lined with shops, leisure centres and restaurants, and the Saladar de Jandía, a Site of Scientific Interest dedicated to preserving a type of vegetation that is very rare in the Canary Islands and resistant to salt water. A tourist beach with lifeguards, numerous sun lounger and parasol hire areas, beach bars and areas for water sports such as surfing or kayaking. The best bit? Staying in a nearby hotel to enjoy a day at the beach and, as the sun sets, a quiet dinner by the sea.
